That looks good, actually! But I had the same feeling about the sugar. American recipes are often oversweet.

Yeah, I’m not sure anyone needs two cups of sugar in anything, unless they’re baking for a wedding-sized audience or whatever. But I also feel it’s worth using that much on the first go-around, just to get a baseline understanding of the flavor profile.

All said and done, I doubt I’ll ever go above one cup again.
